Commercial construction in an existing building - Remodel
A SUCCESSFUL EXPANSION
TO A COMMERCIAL PROJECT
(180 VOBB blocks were set in 2 hours or 90 blocks
per hour by a do-it-yourselfer,
before adding the rebar and pouring/pumping
concrete into the cavities)
This remodeling job already had some existing walls in which the VOBB block were fitted with no problem. Likewise, the floor was sloped to allow for drainage. Very simply, the bottom row of VOBB were shimmed and then grout poured into the cavities which filled to the floor. A very simple task and a very sturdy wall.

The
lintel over the doorway was very easy to make with VOBB block.
